Huang Wei-Yun, Independent artist.

Graduated from National Taipei University with a double major in History and Sociology. In 2018, she entered the Little Theatre School, beginning an irreversible journey into theatre arts. In 2021, she resigned from her teaching position to devote herself fully to theatre.

Her creative practice values perception, freedom, and honesty. She has participated in numerous independent productions, including We Come to ___: A Junior High School Script, The Game of Fate, Lalamoon, Poetics of Drifting, and Beginning… among others. Her original work Mud, Bloom, and Sprout received the Best Award in its category at the Taipei Fringe Festival in 2019.

In recent years, she has re-emerged as an independent theatre maker, creating works in lightweight, site-responsive forms that draw directly from their surroundings, such as The Little Adventure of a Little Snail, Arrangements of Various Meats, and Comma, Period… — To Be Continued. Her work engages with themes of women, self-development, and historical memory, with the hope that her creations may offer audiences a small yet steady source of strength—like the light of a candle.
